Finding the right horse is the first step in creating the ideal horse/rider partnership you have always dreamed of. I offer horses for sale on a limited basis. I have experience on both ends of the horse shopping spectrum–buyer and seller; my focus is always on finding the right fit for human AND horse.
**No horses currently offered for sale.**
I have sold a limited number of horses to longterm homes, at times together with Kelsy Smith. When we have taken on horses as resale or rescue projects our goals are to further their education and find them excellent new owners.
SOLD – Solar, 16 hands, seven years old, dark brown Jockey Club Thoroughbred. Solar is the off-the-track-Thoroughbred that I worked with as part of the Prodigious Fund’s inaugural 100-Day Trainer Challenge in 2013. Sold to Mary in Ohio on behalf of his owners as an amateur dressage and all-around horse. Read about Solar’s 100-Day Trainer Challenge experience, here.
SOLD – Raju’s Wit, aka “Kevin.” Westphalen Warmblood gelding. Kelsy Smith and I purchased Kevin as an unstarted two-year-old from Copper Spring Farm as a sporthorse resale project. After six months of training, we sold Kevin to a fantastic adult amateur rider; together she and Kevin enjoy trail riding and dressage. Kevin has successfully competed in the USEA young event horse series and training level eventing with Kelsy riding.
SOLD – Barbada CD. Registered Lusitano mare, 15 hands, foaled 2006. We purchased “Barbie” in a public auction as a rescue from the seized Carpe Diem herd in Oregon. She was virtually untouched at the time. This great-minded, athletic mare was a pleasure to start and train. She currently lives in Canada with her new family and has a 2013 foal.
SOLD – Veintos. Registered Lusitano gelding, 15 hands. Vientos was also a rescue from the seized Carpe Diem herd. He was nine-years-old when we purchased him with limited handling. We started him under saddle and gave him a foundation in groundwork, dressage, and trail riding. Vientos currently lives in Oregon with a natural horsemanship trainer.
SOLD – Nordstrom BCH, aka “Stuey.” Registered Haflinger gelding, 15 hands bred by Briarcroft Haflingers. Stuey is currently used as an amateur dressage horse and lower level three-day eventer. He has also successfully participated in Pony Club. I chronicled my training process with Stuey in a horse training diary for Briarcroft Haflingers when I was 18 years old, here.
SOLD – Jetin N Jokin, aka “Skooter.” Registered Quarter Horse gelding, 14.1 hands. Kelsy and I sold Skooter as a resale in 2009. He is much loved by his new owner and is currently used for gaming and Western 4H.
SOLD – “Jake.” Registered Paint Horse gelding with trail experience and natural horsemanship training. Kelsy and I sold Jake as a resale in 2008. He was sold to a Western gaming rider.
